Virtually Wired Boston, MA. "Falling Through the Net", the NTIA report, states that 4.5% of inner city homes have computers. Less than 25% of those have modems. These statistics introduce the first major barrier to Informational Literacy: access. It is not surprising that in areas of low economic opportunity, access to information technology is limited. Sadly, these areas are also the least likely to have useful computers in their schools. Those in this group have long been known to be "Information Have Nots". Virtually Wired addresses this concern by providing access to the Internet and other services for only $3.00/day or $10.00/per month. It is Virtually Wired's policy that no one need be turned away.
Women's Access to Electronic Resources Austin, TX. Training the next generation of feminist media saboteurs.
