It would seem that in addition to the state's relaxation of drug laws that the overall number of drug cases that were seen through to conviction has dropped in the state of New York as numbers have changed significantly in the past decade since New York City criminal defense attorney groups have been able to take advantage of different rules. In 2000, the number of crimes related to drug offenses was over thirty percent of all the crimes prosecuted that resulted in a prison sentence. Over a decade later that number had fallen to just fifteen percent of all crimes. |
