Although it might seem counterintuitive to spend money during a recession or other depressed economic era, a tactic for some companies that has resulted in a commanding share of a particular industry has been to expand in anticipation of an economy's recovery. For construction companies this has meant increasing the available services with new equipment and collateral based equipment lending. The strongest companies to exist after a recession will always be those with significant and available personnel and equipment to offer new clients who would also like to engage in expansion when new projects start to become available.
